Commissioned to live in the power of the Risen Christ

Join us this week as we embrace the commission we are given to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit.

Commissioned to Live in the Power of the Risen Christ
Scriptures: Ephesians 1:15–23, Luke 24:44–53, and selected verses from Joel
This week’s message calls us to recognize the incredible truth that we are commissioned by God to live in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 1, Paul offers a prayer that believers would have spiritual wisdom and that the eyes of their hearts would be enlightened—so that they would know the hope of God’s calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the great power available to those who believe. This same power that raised Jesus from the dead is not a distant promise, but a present reality for every believer.
In Luke 24, the risen Jesus opens the minds of His disciples to understand the Scriptures and reminds them that His suffering, death, and resurrection were all part of God’s divine plan. He then commissions them to preach repentance and forgiveness to all nations, promising that they will be clothed with power from on high—the Holy Spirit.
These passages, when read together, show us that being a follower of Christ means more than belief; it means action. We are enlightened to understand, empowered to live, and commissioned to proclaim. We are not called to live in our own strength, but in the strength of the Spirit, just as promised in the book of Joel: God will pour out His Spirit on all people. Joel reminds us that God uses hardship to call us back, repentance leads to restoration, and the Holy Spirit equips us to live boldly and faithfully.
This message is a call to wake up spiritually, to remember who we are in Christ, and to live like it—every single day.

Challenge Statement
You are not powerless. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is alive in you. You are not meant to merely survive—you are meant to live commissioned. This week, stop settling for a passive faith. Dive into Scripture daily. Pray with the confidence that you are heard. Speak with the boldness of someone sent by God. Love with a heart full of Christ’s power. And ask yourself:
What am I doing with the power I’ve been given?
Now is the time. Be the light. Be the change. Be the evidence of the risen Christ in a world that desperately needs Him.

God’s Power Is Not Distant—It Lives in You

Ephesians 1 reminds us that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to all believers. This is not symbolic or theoretical—God’s power is real, present, and active in your life through the Holy Spirit.

Scripture Is Opened for Understanding and Action

Luke 24 shows Jesus opening the disciples’ minds to the Scriptures, not for knowledge alone, but to equip them for their mission. We are called to be in God’s Word daily, allowing it to shape our lives and guide our purpose.

You Are Commissioned to Live Boldly and Share Freely

We are not just saved—we are sent. The risen Christ has entrusted us with His message of repentance, forgiveness, and hope. We are commissioned to carry His love and truth into every corner of our lives and communities.
